The journal discussion is about you and your situation. We will review what you have written in your journal and inform you about the process.
We will support you in making your final decision. We will talk about the different types of donor sperm—contactable and non-contactable donor sperm. What are the advantages and disadvantages of choosing the extended profile of a donor? Why? What are your wishes and dreams, and what are the concrete factors?
Our attitude is that there is no one right decision, but there are a number of matters that must be considered in your personal outlook, your family background and where you are in your life right now. So use the journal discussion and our detailed questions to investigate and take note of what is more or less important to you regarding donor sperm.
Emotional aspects and lifestyle
During the journal discussion, we will also talk about the more emotional aspects and lifestyle. We do this on the grounds that if you have a healthy lifestyle before you become pregnant, you will have a healthier pregnancy and a healthier baby.
Chances of becoming pregnant
We assess your chances of becoming pregnant and discuss what you are happy to do to increase your chances of becoming pregnant. We set aside about 45 minutes for the journal discussion. You can come on your own or bring along your partner or a good friend. If you have a partner, we recommend that he or she comes with you or is there if having the discussion via the telephone or Skype.
